20 Plaster-casted buddhas sitting on the ground, each with 12 boobs on its body.
Boobs Buddha draws reference to the hipster Buddhist toilet decorations that are sold across the UK in places such as Poundland. The work reproduced Laughing Buddha, the Chinese cultural-religious figure, using cheap material and process. Thus impose reflections to the commodified and aestheticized East Asian culture in the context of post-colonization “mixing pot”.
